The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
