New information has come to light about the shocking passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.

Additionally pushed back against published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation applies to reports of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
